Kochi: On his Facebook profile, Congress MLA V T Balram stated that he supported the arrests made by the LDF government of the suspects involved in violence during the Sabarimala protests.
Responding to Rahul Easwar’s controversial speech, he stated that it is the responsibility of the state government to deal with criminals who spill blood and urinate or desecrate the Sannithanam at Sabarimala.
Previously, Rahul Easwar, an activist and the President of the Ayyappa Dharma Sena was arrested on Sunday, October 28 for his controversial statements regarding the women’s temple entry issue.
Balram also stated that such people should be arrested as is the belief of every strong Ayyappa devotee and that Congress was with the devotees and not vandals. His statement is in stark contrast to the opinion of many of the leaders in his party including that of State President K Sudhakaran, who supports Rahul Easwar.
He wanted to remind the people of his party that their leader was Rahul Gandhi and not Rahul Easwar.
