Hyderabad: A housewife was allegedly kidnapped and raped by four persons in Kamatipura in the old city on Saturday night.

The 33-year-old victim from Asifnagar area, who was working as a tailor, came to the Banjara Hills on Saturday evening to make some purchases at a shopping mall. Around 9 p.m. while the woman was waiting for her friend Shakeel near Hyderabad Central in Punjagutta, four strangers came in a car and reportedly dragged her into the vehicle, the police said.

The miscreants gagged and took her to a private transport office near Rama Talkies in Kamatipura and sexually violated her. Around midnight the accused persons released the victim. The woman informed her husband, who came to the place, of the incident. Later, the couple made a complaint at the Kamatipura police station.

“The woman told that the gang abducted her from Punjagutta and brought her to the Kamatipura where they raped her. We are verifying the kidnap angle. Call Data Record Analysis of mobile phones points out that the woman had long phone conversations with one of the accused,” DCP (south) V Satyanarayana said.

Basing on the complaint made by the victim, the police registered a case against four persons including one Asad and detained three persons for questioning.
