A shocking video from Shaheed Path has gone viral on social media, showing a woman dangerously leaning out of a speeding car — an act that has drawn widespread outrage and renewed concerns over reckless behaviour on one of Lucknow’s busiest roads.
Viral video shows woman leaning out of moving car
The video, widely circulated on Instagram and X, shows a woman dressed inappropriately, leaning halfway out of the window of a moving black car bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number. The clip, reportedly filmed by bystanders, shows her performing unsafe stunts while the vehicle moves at high speed along Shaheed Path.
Witnesses described the act as both “objectionable” and “reckless”, criticising the lack of respect for traffic safety and decency. Several users expressed anger over the dangerous stunt, calling for strict action against those responsible.
Police begin probe after public backlash
Following the viral spread of the video, Lucknow Police have reportedly initiated an inquiry into the incident. However, officials are yet to issue a formal statement confirming the registration of a case or the identification of the individuals involved.
“We have taken note of the video and are looking into its authenticity and origin,” a police source said. “Appropriate action will be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act and relevant penal provisions once the culprits are identified.”
The black car seen in the video is believed to have been travelling on the outer section of Shaheed Path, a high-speed corridor connecting major residential and commercial zones in Lucknow.
Shaheed Path turning into hub for reckless acts
This is not the first time Shaheed Path has featured in viral clips showing dangerous road behaviour. In recent months, several videos have surfaced of bikers performing wheelies, motorists racing at night, and passengers hanging out of vehicles — all in violation of traffic regulations.
Locals say the road, known for its smooth traffic and wide lanes, has increasingly become a hotspot for thrill-seekers and influencers attempting risky stunts for social media attention.
“Every few weeks, we see someone doing something dangerous here — speeding cars, drag races, or these so-called stunts. There is little visible patrolling at night,” said a resident of Vrindavan Yojana, which lies adjacent to the highway.
Concerns over weak traffic enforcement
Safety experts and citizens have called for stricter surveillance and consistent enforcement of road rules on Shaheed Path. They have urged authorities to install additional CCTV cameras, increase patrolling, and impose heavier penalties on reckless drivers.
“Such behaviour endangers not only the occupants of the vehicle but also other motorists. The lack of fear of law is the real issue,” said traffic safety advocate Sandeep Tiwari.
Social media users also tagged Lucknow Traffic Police in posts demanding action, pointing out that viral incidents like this have become “alarmingly frequent”.
Repeat violations raise alarm
The recurrence of such stunts highlights broader gaps in road discipline and the enforcement of safety norms in Uttar Pradesh’s capital. Despite regular awareness campaigns, many motorists continue to flout basic traffic rules, leading to frequent accidents and near misses on the city’s arterial routes.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curb such behaviour, but citizens say enforcement remains inconsistent. “Until the police make examples out of offenders, this trend won’t stop,” said another resident.
As the video continues to circulate widely, it has once again sparked debate on the growing culture of online validation that often drives people to perform risky acts — even at the cost of public safety.
