IndiGo passenger experiences ‘mini heart attack’ as seat swings mid-air
A man flying from Delhi to Lucknow on an IndiGo flight recently experienced a terrifying incident when his seat began to swing back and forth moments after takeoff. The passenger, identified as Daksh Sethi, took to Instagram to share a video of the unsettling experience, which quickly went viral. In his post, Sethi described the seat swinging as a “terrifying feeling” and emphasized that the situation could be dangerous, particularly for elderly passengers or those with medical conditions.
The video, showing three passengers seated in a row with their seats swaying mid-air, revealed how the seat’s instability caused significant concern for the passengers. Sethi noted that while the issue may not seem serious to some, it was alarming enough to warrant attention, especially considering the potential risks for more vulnerable individuals on board.
Following the incident, the crew moved Sethi and the other affected passengers to vacant seats and called maintenance personnel to inspect the aircraft during deboarding. Sethi criticized the airline for poor maintenance, suggesting that such problems indicate deeper issues within the airline’s operations.
In response to the viral video, IndiGo apologized for the experience, calling it a “rare anomaly.” The airline assured that the feedback would be taken seriously and that the situation would be thoroughly investigated. They acknowledged the prompt response of the crew and reiterated their commitment to safety and comfort.
Social media reactions varied, with some users applauding Sethi for calmly sharing his experience without attacking the airline, while others criticized IndiGo for the deteriorating condition of their services. Sethi, known for flagging issues with the airline previously, had earlier pointed out inconsistencies with the airport’s weighing machines.
