Dubai: UAE’s likeminded Konkani poets in association with Aankrionline.com organized Konkani Poetry recitation program, Kavi Goshti at Winny’s restaurant Karama – Dubai on 21st August 2022.
Editor of Aaankrionline.com and chief convener of the Kavigoshti Sannu Monis welcomed the gathering. Valerian D’almeida – Managing Director of Quick Accounting & Advisory LLC Abu Dhabi, Quick Digital & Advisory, Mangalore and advisor of Spearhead Media Pvt Ltd was the guest of honour for the program. He recited poetry All Windows no doors and related the poetry to the current scenario of the nation of India. He expressed his opinion about the love vs hate in the country and creating a healthy society with the base of love. He also mentioned empowering the poets by creating the platforms to present their write ups. Valerian said pen is the powerful weapon which can create difference in the society and welcomed every poet to use newskarnataka.com to showcase their talent.
Another guest Lancy Ashok Dantis – Managing Director of King Marine Shipping Fujairah expressed his happiness to Konkani poets of UAE for stepping forward to join together and share the poems by reciting them. He said, Aankrionline.com is working to promote Konkani poetry to the world. Lancy wished all poets to write more and more and make Konkani literature rich.
Poet Kiran Nirkan presided over the poetry recitation and presented the poetry recital. Poet Annu Kulshekar, Seema Taccode, Maxim Loretto, Janet Dsouza Madanthyar, Alwyn Pinto Derebail, Melwyn Kalakul, Preethy Seema Dsouza Bikarnakatte, Sudarshan Hegde, Anil Cardoza Belman, Sannu Monis Boliye, Tony Mendonca Niddodi, Vivian Bajal, Ranjitha Lewis, Roshan D’silva, Winston Urwa, Lancy Noronha Bellur, Darrel Vamanjoor and Godwin D’souza Boliye presented their poems.
As a special presentation, Konkani poet Robert Udyavar gave a brief explanation about the Japanese poetic form Haiku and presented a few Haiku poems to the audience.
Konkani poet Alwyn Pinto Derebail presented his funny shayaris to the audience and made everyone laugh.
After Kavigoshti, movie producer, actor, singer, Managing Director of Merit Freight systems Joseph Mathias who is also known as “patron of Artists” said, during the occasion of celebration of Konkani Manyata Divas on August 20th, we must take pledge to speak Konkani in our daily life. Only by considering Konkani as our daily part of life will it remain as our mother language and we are responsible to pass the essence of Konkani to our younger generation.
Advisor of Aaankrionline.com Nanu Marol expressed his happiness and wished all poets for their wonderful presentations and applauded new and budding poets for their interest in Konkani poetry and requested to write more and more in Konkani.
