As academy it is our responsiblity to take care of football players’ everything: Saravana

Dubai: NewsKarnataka featured Kickstart Group on Thursday November 18 at 8.00 pm IST, live from Dubai. The programme is envisioned to bring back the past glory of football in Karnataka and to enable India as a footballing nation.

Saravana, Director, Talent Management, Rajesh, Coach, U-14 team, and Kickstart Football Club U-14 Team’s Captain Dhruv and Team Member Akansh Makal were the guests for the event.

The host for the event were Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida, and the co-host Rajesh Sequeira.

The guest Saravana answering the question on the process of training, Categories, Nutrition and Physical Fitness required said, “As an academy it is our responsiblity to take care of everything of a football player from nutritional strength to everything.

He said that there is no specific age in joining the course. One can join from the age of four itself but age 10 to 12 is the best one.

When questioned on students’ orientation towards sports and ignorance towards education, Rajesh said, “Both should be balanced, and there indeed is a scope in football but studies too is very important.”

Speaking on his experience of being in the field from his age eight, U-14 Captain Dhruv said, “I am a left footer and can utilise the potential anywhere in the field based on the opponent and the strategies made.”

“Being a nervous person back then, i have more evolved in past six years.”

Acknowledging the contribution of Kickstart Group in turning a gully football player into a professional one Akansh said, “There was a time when I used to cry after losing a match but now I look back and feel that I have grown confident.”

Rajesh said, “Kickstart is the second biggest club in Karnataka and the confidence being given to us by the management and the parents make me believe that surely we will be champions.

Rajesh took the opportunity to thank the parents who stood as a supporting pillar in their success.

Host Valerian Dalmaida and co-host Rajesh Sequeira concluded the programme extending best wishes to Kickstart Group and assuring their support all along.
