Billawas Qatar blood donation camp gets over 100 donors

Qatar: Billawas Qatar, an associate organization of the Indian Cultural Centre organized a Blood Donation Campaign on 8th April 2022 in association with Hamad Medical Corporation. Even though it was announced on a short notice of three days due to the urgent need for blood at HMC, organizers made it a successful one with more than 100 donors voluntarily registering for donating blood.

Raghunath Anchan, President of the organization addressed the gathering by welcoming the guests and donors and thanked everyone for their contribution to this noble cause. He also emphasized that the aim of this campaign was to raise awareness about blood donation and to support the noble cause of gifting life.

The chief guests of the event PN Babu Rajan – President ICC, Subramanya Hebbagelu – Vice President ICC Qatar and Vinod V Nair – Vice President of ICBF Qatar shared their thoughts, appreciated the Organizers and encouraged everyone to serve the mankind in all positive ways. Dignitaries from various other associated organizations in Qatar graced the occasion with their presence.

The Guest speaker, Dr Sumpath Sundar briefed the gathering on the importance and benefits of donating blood. He explained how science has made progress in the field of blood transfusion thereby saving many lives. He also highlighted that blood donation is a vital part of healthcare and is used in the management of many clinical health problems. Dr Sumpath encouraged and urged the community to donate blood at regular intervals as blood donation is considered one of the best ways of helping mankind.

The event was concluded by a vote of thanks by General Secretary Sandeep Malar who thanked all participants,  guests, volunteers, health authorities and committee members of Billawas Qatar for their support and cooperation in making this event a grand success.

Earlier Billawas Qatar had formed its new committee for the year 2022-23. Raghunath Anchan was re-elected anonymously as President while the former Secretary Amith Poojary got elected as the Vice President. The new committee with their portfolios is as given here.
