Gulf: Dr. Tessa Kaneria, Specialist Radiologist in NMC Specialty Hospital Abu Dhabi received the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Golden Visa. She was awarded a Golden Visa in appreciation of her contributions as a doctor.
The UAE established a new long-term residency visa system in 2019, allowing foreigners to live, work, and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and with full ownership of their business. People with special talents, such as doctors, have been granted a 10-year Golden Visa in the UAE.
Dr. Tessa Nainesh Kaneria was born in the Ernakulam, Kerala. Her father, (Late) Jose Katticaran, was a retired engineer cum planter and her mother Sally Jose Katticaran, was the Head of the department of nutrition at K. S Hegde Medical College, Mangaluru and retired a few years ago. In 1990, her parents relocated to Mangaluru to oversee their arecanut plantation. She received her early education at St. Mary’s Girls’ School, Falnir, and Canara PU College, Mangaluru. She has received multiple awards in academics as well as extracurricular events at various inter-school and inter-collegiate competitions during her school and college days.
Dr. Tessa began working as a Senior Resident in 2013 and worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radio Diagnosis at Father Muller Medical College in Mangaluru till 2017. After that, she moved to Abu Dhabi to work as a Specialist Radiologist at NMC Specialty Hospital Abu Dhabi. Women’s Imaging is her area of specialisation.
She is also a member of the European Society of Radiology and the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association.
Nainesh Kaneria, a pilot by profession, is Dr. Tessa’s husband. They have two children, Advik, who is six years old, and Amaya, who is two years old. The young family has lived in Abudhabi for the past five years.
