I got comfortable with my students as soon as I began treating them as my own children: Shyamaladevi

Dubai: The newskarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was telecast on Saturday September 25 at 8.00 pm.

The series that showcases teachers and the influence they have had on students through teacher-student interaction broadcasted live on YouTube on youtube.com/newskarnataka.

The event was hosted by Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida, and co-host Kiran Nirkan.

The special guests of the programme were Shyamaladevi K, the teacher Pallavi Rao, finance officer at Qutar, Bhagyaraj Gurupura Gravity X developer, Sharan Kumar, a mimicry artist and Tulu actor, and Ashwith Fernandes.

In the beginning co-host Kiran Nirkan introduced teacher Shyamaladevi K. and host CA Valerian Dalmaida and all the students.

Shyamaladevi K. sharing her experience as teacher said, “In 1992 I started my career in Karadka Government High School on contract basis and then I joined Rosa Mystic High School in Kaikamba. In the beginning I hesitated to face the children, but when I began thing all the students as my own children, then I got very comfortable in the classroom.”

She further said, “Gandhari of Mahabharat had 101 children but I am the mother of more than thousand children.”

“We may easily get good and brilliant students but it is hard to get cultured students. However, I am proud to say all my students are cultured and have deep set of values,” she said.

Sharing his experience with Shyamala teacher, one of her students Bhagyaraj said, ” she is very friendly in nature, and never discriminated the students. She gave us motherly feeling in the school.”

Pallavi said “she is very good in Kannada, and her teaching is very effective. I still remember we were enthusiastic to attend her classes.”

Meanwhile Sharan said, “I was not able to continue studies, but today am a popular actor. It has been only possible due to my teachers.”

Another student Ashwith said, “Shyamala teacher has a smiling face and never scolded anyone of us. She controlled the whole class only through her friendly in nature.”

Both students and teacher recalled their school life and became excited. Students reminded their teacher the mischievous things they did during their school days.

While signing off, all the students wished their teacher again and extended best wishes to Newskarnataka for hosting the programmes like Namaste Teacher.
