Kickstart Group aims to focus on youth devpt: Raghu Kumar

Dubai: NewsKarnataka featured Kickstart Group on Tuesday November 23 at 8.00 pm IST, live from Dubai. The programme is envisioned to bring back the past glory of footbal in Karnataka and to enable India as a footballing nation.

Raghu Kumar, Director, Youth Development and Head Coach of Kickstart Academy, Nirmal, Coach; U-14 team member, Sachit and Former U-12 Captain and Star player Vivek were the guests for the event.

The host for the event Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida, and the co-host Rajesh Sequeira introduced the guests and welcomed them.

Explaining about the development activities conducted for the players, Raghu Kumar said, “We train the students in three levels namely Basic, Intermediate and Professional and the transition from one layer to other rely on the grasping power of the students.

Nirmal, hailing from the sports background talking about his experience as a player and a coach for U-12 said, “There indeed is a scope for coaching. What I didn’t get in my childhood, at the age of 9 when I began as a player in this field, I am making it available it to my students.

Stating his experience of three years with Kickstart , Vivek reminisced, “When I joined Kickstart Academy, I was taught basics. But soon the coaches on finding a spark in me took me to Nepal, Chennai, Goa and other places wherein I started to learn a lot. As the motivation from coach has been growing so is my growth, he added.

Sachith, who began his football game at the age of eight and joined Kickstart Academy at the age of ten said, “After joining the academy my confidence level has boosted. And the reason for this is our coaches, he stressed.

Producing young talent and focusing on youth development is the future aim of Kickstart Group, said Raghu Kumar, answering co-host Rajesh Sequeira’s question about the prospectus of the academy.

Valerian Dalmaida said that the government has to initiate in reserving some marks towards sports activities of the students.so that the sports gets due recognition.

Raghu Kumar expressed gratitude and appreciated the initiative of Newskarnataka along with suggesting all boys and girls to take up sports and enjoy their lives.

Nirmal gave a call to all the young boys and girls to opt for sports in order to maintaining their mental and physical health.

Host Valerian and Co -host Rajesh appreciated the confident attitude of the students and concluded the programme.
