My profession a choice due to my teachers: Roopa H Ganganna

Dubai: The 13th episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Saturday November 27 at 6.30 pm IST.

The series that showcases teachers and the impact they have had on students through teacher-student interaction was broadcast live on YouTube at youtube.com/newskarnataka. The event host was Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida, and the co-host was Kiran Nirkan.

The guest of the show was, Teacher Roopa Hampannavara Ganganna, MCA. She was working as an Assistant Professor at SJM institute of Technology, Chitradurga, and currently is a director of Kannada Paatashale U.A.E and Secretary, Kannada Mitra Institute U.A. E.

Dr. Chandrakala B. M., Professor, Dayanandasagar College of Engineering and Kavyashree H. L, MCA colleagues of Roopa Hampannavara were the other guest teachers. Eshita Shekar, student in Engineering, Aashish Harish Kodi, first year BCom student, and Saraswathi, a Home Maker were the students at the event.

Host CA Valerian Dalmaida and Co host Kiran Nirkan introduced the guests of the day.

Roopa Hampannavara Ganganna putting forth her words said, “When I was pursuing my second year of graduation, our college was shut and we students were shattered thinking about our future. And then, it was our teachers who built confidence within us students inspite of their own job being at stake. And so, i decided to become a teacher,” she said.

Kavyashree H.L., who has been working with Roopa at Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai, from past eight years said, “The service mindest, the dedication and the leadership quality which Roopa ma’am has is very unique. It is difficult to lead the individuls of various mindset. But Roopa ma’am has that quality to take everyone together. And it is not wrong if I say that I have learnt a lot from her sensitive nature.

Dr. Chandrakala B.M. spoke about Roopa Hampannavara Ganganna, and said, “Roopa ma’am was such a personality who would not hesitate to seek something new. She was always ready to teach anything to anyone. Also she never complained about work stress or strain.

Student Aashish Harish Kodi, said, “I have learnt for seven years under Roopa ma’am. She ensured we got the basics right. Her friendly approach post class hours was liked by all. And she also opened the platform for me in order to showcase my talent.

Eshita Shekar said, “Roopa ma’am was very caring, loving and supportive teacher who had a simple, crisp and clear solution to every doubts we had.

Sarsawathi, a home maker said, “Post college, it is the first time I am meeting our Roopa ma’am. She was more like a friend to me than a teacher in college. She would even come home during free hours for the sake of clearing our doubts.

Madam Roopa was overwhelmed with the words of appreciation by her students. Both students and teacher recalled their school life and became excited.

While signing off, all the students wished their teacher again and extended best wishes to Newskarnataka for hosting programmes like Namaste Teacher.
