Mumbai: Pavitra Bhat along with a team of 7 dancers from his dance institute P.A.V.I. selected for the prestigious dance tour of Australia. The performance is organised by ICCR in association with the High Commission of India in Australia along with the Ministry of Culture and External Affairs, Govt of India. Pavitra Bhat is a respected Empanelled Artist of ICCR – Indian Council of Cultural Relations. ICCR is a Govt Body which takes care of Cultural exchange and educational programs to build in cultural awareness among countries.

This year being the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Culture organised a Mega Competition in New Delhi and students of Shri Pavitra Bhat &  wife Aparna Shastry Bhat won the prestigious competition. They already had got a grand opportunity to perform at the Raj Path in front of the Prime Minister and President of India during the Republic Day Parade on January 26 2022 and further, as a cultural exchange program, they are sent to Australia along with their Guru to represent our Country at International Platform. The Team would be presenting Ramayana in Bharatanatyam Format. The five performances and workshops would be spread into three states Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.  The tour starts on October 5 and the team returns back to India on October 17.

Artists are Pavitra Bhat along with Aabha, Janhavi V, Jidnyasa, Shalin, Garima, Manaswi and Janhavi K. Pavitra-Art-Visual Institute is a Dombivli-based Bharatanatyam Dance Class run by Shri Pavitra Bhat and Smt Aparna Shastry Bhat.

The school celebrates its 20th year this year and has a strength of 250 students learning Bharatanatyam. Many students have completed their Rangapravesha and also won numerous competitions. 9 students have received the Govt of India Junior Scholarship for Bharatanatyam.
