Bengaluru: Excise Minister H Y Meti, who is now in eye of storm over a sex CD row, on Tuesday met Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president and Home Minister G Parameshwara and has said that he was ready to quit if the party wants him to.Claiming that he was a victim of conspiracy, Meti reportedly told Parameshwar that he had not done anything wrong.
It may be recalled that RTI activist Rajashekar Mulali from Ballari has claimed that he is in possession of a CD containing Meti’s sexual escapades. Meanwhile, a lady too had come out in open claiming that she was sexually abused by Meti. The same lady soon took a U-turn stating that the lady in the video was not her, only to again mend her statement a day later claiming that she was abused at the hands of the Minister and that she denied the same due to life threat.
Addressing a press conference in Bagalkot, she said that Subhash Mugalakhod, the constable of the district armed reserve, and three others had also forced her to give a statement against the minister and videographed it. The recording was done at a building on the bypass in Bagalkot on November 22, the woman said, adding that she still faced a death threat from the constable.
She said that she did not inform the police about the three others at that time out of fear. She said that three others with Mugalakhod were known to her and that she would reveal their names at the right time.
The woman later went to the office of M N Nagaraj, the district Superintendent of Police.
The woman has got herself admitted to the district government hospital for the treatment of her stomachache. Heavy police security was put in place at the hospital and journalists were not allowed inside.
