Belagavi: A woman was hacked to death by her husband at Hindalco Circle under Malmaruti Police limits here on Monday.
Deceased is Geetha (32) and her husband, Nagaraj Nayak (36), a driver by profession has been arrested.
It is said that due to constant harassment from Nayak, an alcoholic, Geetha and their son had started living with her brother. She had been working in parlour to fend for herself and her son. However, Nayak had of late started accusing her of infidelity.
Around 10.30 a.m. on Monday, Nagaraj went to the bus stop at Hindalco Circle where Geeta was waiting to go to work. He picked an argument with Geeta and attacked her with a machete in full public view. His attempt to escape was thwarted by some onlookers.
