Belagavi: The Belagavi airport, after a brief lull in its flight operations, turned functional, on July 11 with the launch of Alliance Air’s Belagavi to Bengaluru flight services.
Recently, Spicejet had stopped its flight services from the Belagavi airport, while shifting it to Hubballi, which comes under the UDAN scheme. However, efforts put in by MPs Suresh Angadi, Prabhakar Kore, local MLA Abhay Patil ensured that the airport gets functional once again.
The maiden flight of Alliance Air, which is a subsidiary of Air India was inaugurated by MP Suresh Angadi on Wednesday evening at a grand ceremony held here. MP Suresh Angadi, DC S Ziaullah, ZP CEO Ramachandran, Cantonment Board CEO Divya Shivraman, Police Commissioner D C Rajappa, Airport Director Rajeshkumar Morya and officials of alliance airs were present.
The flight will operate on three days of a week i.e., Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. On Tuesday, the flight will arrive at Belagavi Airport from Bengaluru at 5.05 PM and departure is scheduled at 5.35 PM. On Wednesday and Saturday, the flight will arrive at 3.35 PM and depart at 4.00 PM.
