Bagalakote: Education is the most important part of one’s life. Every government propagates that we are giving more importance to education, and that they have established schools and colleges. But in reality it seems like no one is concerned about government education institutions, and Bagalkote Kendriya Vidyalaya is witness for such a situation.
The school has been facing lot of issues due to staff scarcity. Eventhough it was established 12 years ago the school doesn’t have any full time teachers. If anyone comes here as teacher they get transfer using influence in just a year. Due to this the children are deprived of good education and the benefits of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
There are 693 students in this school from Class I to Class X. But the teachers are not enough when compared to the student strength. Including 28 teaching and 8 non-teaching staff, total 36 post remains vacant. Principal himself works as clerk, and peon here. There is provision to appoint teachers on contract basis but no qualitative qualified teachers come in. Sanskrit teacher is from Mathura, and others are from Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu, Raichur and other districts of Karnataka.
Every class must have maximum strength of 40 students but due to MP and DC quota there are 50 to 70 students admitted I each class, it is alleged. Yet the Government is not appointing the staff is the further allegations.
Speaking to NewsKarnataka Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal Anand Padmanabh said that, it’s true that our school has staff scarcity, and many permanent teachers take transfer. This year 15 teachers have taken transfer. We understand the concern of students and parents. We have brought the issue in front of the Education Department as the teachers appointed on contract basis are not well qualified, he added.
