Bagalakote: Block Congress President Sanjay Baragundi said “Folk art should be preserved and nurtured. Folk art and literature have carried from people to people verbally rather than in written form, and there is a variety of associations, including chaudaki, geegi, etc. “It is intertwined with our daily lives, he noted.

He was speaking after inaugurating a folk music and instrumental meet organised by Sri Gajanana Cultural and Sports Yuva Mandali and Department of Kannada and Culture on Tuesday December 20. “It should be a task to introduce it to our next generation, he said. He added that the Gajanana Yuva Mandali is doing a good job.

He stressed that the Mandali should do more social service.
