Belagavi: According to a report by medical experts, six of the seven foetuses found from a gutter here were male and had congenital developmental deformities. The theory of female foeticide put forth in the case has been refuted by this.
As per reports, an attempt was made to preserve the fetuses using formalin, which is a commonly used preservative for storing biological specimens.
“A thorough investigation into how the embryos ended up in the gutter has been mandated,” informed District Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil.
On Wednesday, five boxes containing up to seven foetuses were found floating in an open drain near the Mudalgi Town bus stop. After the police were notified by the villagers, the foetuses were removed from the ditch and taken to the hospital.
