Belagavi: Six accused have been arrested in connection with a double murder case at Sulebhavi Village in Belagavi Taluk.
Shashikant alias Sasa alias Juttu Bheemashi Misale (24), Yelesha Sidarai Hunkari Patil (22), Manjunath Shivaji Paroji (22), Devappa Ravi Kukadolli (26) of Sulebhavi Village, Santosh Yellappa Dhanabaratti (20), and Bharamanna Nagappa Nayaka (20) of Khanagaon B.K. village are the arrested.
DCP Ravindra Gadadi said that the accused were taken into custody and during interrogation, they confessed to the murder. Four among the six were construction workers, while the others were unemployed. Two gangs got into a fight and killed two, he said.
Two youths were hacked to death in front of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at Sulebhavi Village in the Taluk on Thursday October 6 night following an old enmity. The deceased have been identified as Randheera Urfa Mahesh Ramachandra Murari (26) and Prakash Ningappa Hunkari Patil (24) of Sulebhavi village.
Two policemen from Marihal Police Station were suspended for dereliction of duty in connection with the double murder case.
