Belagavi: “I am a staunch Hindu. But I am against those who do Hindutva politics. I treat all religions and communities equally as per the Constitution. But the people of the State will not tolerate the BJP trying to project me as anti-Hindu,” sais Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah.
Speaking at the Prajadhvani Yatra organised at R. D. College Grounds at Chikkodi in the DIstrict, he said that the Congress has launched the Prajadhvani Yatra against the anti-people rule of the State and Central Governments. “It will cover all Districts till January 28 and will visit two Districts in a day. The Congress is a party that has done what it says and has not lied to people. When our Party came to power, it has programmed in favour of the poor, Dalits, farmers and women,” he noted.
“Work has been done in favour of social justice. In 2013, when I was the Chief Minister, 158 of the 165 promises I had made in the manifesto have been fulfilled. More than 30 new programmes were launched. Loans of farmers up to Rs. 50,000 were waived off. The Indira Canteen was opened. Ksheera Bhagya, Anna Bhagya and Pashu Bhagya were given for the benefits of the poor and farmers. But after coming to power, the BJP Government is doing politics of hate by cancelling all schemes,” he said.
