Belagavi: A 15-year-old boy was killed on the night of Thursday July 14 in Linganamatha, Khanapur Taluk, after the walls of a house collapsed as a result of the continuous rain.

The deceased has been identified as Pashetty.

Following continuous rains, the water level in the Krishna, Dudhganaga, Vedaganga, and Ghataprabha rivers in Maharashtra has increased drastically. The water level at the Hidakal reservoir increased by 5 feet in just one day as a result of the Krishna river’s rapid inflow.

As a precaution, the District Administration has given anganwadis, primary schools, and high schools in the district a two-day holiday on Friday and Saturday.
