Belagavi: The police has arrested the owner of a coaching centre in Gokak in connection with the alleged irregularities in the written examination for the post of Junior Grade Assistant in Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL).
The arrested has been identified as Balesh Kenchappa Kattikara (26), owner of Private Coaching Centre in Gokak, Rajapura Village in Mudalagi Taluk. Balesh has been arrested for allegedly giving electronic devices, microchips and electronic devices to the candidates during the KPTCL junior grade assistant examination.
More than 17 candidates who appeared for the examination have already been arrested. Along with Sanjeev Bhandari, Manjunath Mali, Sridhar Kattikar, and Balesh along with others, had given an electronic device, a microchip and wrote the answers to the candidates.
Investigating officer DCRB DSP Veeresh Dodamani conducted an investigation and arrested the accused and remanded him to judicial custody.
