Belagavi: Thousands of people took part in the final journey of the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, and Forest. The last journey on a military vehicle was held from Belagavi to Belladbagewadi, where his last rites were performed as per Veerashaiva-Lingayat traditions on Wednesday September 7.

The State Government has also declared a holiday on Wednesday to all Government offices, schools and colleges in the District in respect of Katti.

Earlier in the day, his mortal remains were flown by air to Belagavi. Further, the Government had earlier announced one-day State mourning across Karnataka but later extended till Friday September 9.
