Kaneri: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that Rs. 11,000 per cow is being collected from donors under the Punyakoti Scheme in the State and thereby 1 lakh cows will be nurtured.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for Karnataka Bhavana and inaugurating Sant-Bhakt Samavesh of Sahridayi Seers’ Federation at Kaneri Math in Kolhapura, Maharashtra, he said steps will be taken for self-management of gaushalas started by the Government by making products with value addition of cow dung and urine.
The Vidyanidhi Scholarship Scheme for the children of farmers, weavers and autorickshaw drivers has been implemented and it has benefitted several people, he said.
Kaneri Matha is the ideal monastery in the country. A religious, economic and social revolution is taking place under the leadership of Sri Adrushya Kadasiddeshwara Swamiji, he noted.
The Government has already announced a grant of Rs. 3 Crore for the Karnataka Bhavan being constructed at Kaneri Matha and another Rs. 2 Crore will be given soon, he assured.
