Dharwad: The fifth edition of ‘INCOMEX’, an industrial and commerce exhibition organised jointly by the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and the Industry & Commerce Department will be held from December 2 to 6 in Hubballi.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli said the five-day event was being organised to attract the entrepreneurs to set up their units in this part of the region, and lay a bridge between the manufacturers and the consumers.
The event would be held at the Multi-purpose Permanent Exhibition Centre at Amargol APMC yard from, which would also include a German pavilion for investors and buyers from Germany. This event is organised once in four years, DC said.
Union Large and Medium Scale Minister H N Ananthkumar would be inaugurating the event on December 3, while Commerce Minister Nirmala Seetharam would be the chief guest. Major and Medium Industry Minister R V Deshpande would preside over.
Speaking on the occasion, KCCI President Ramesh Patil said the INCOMEX-2016 would be of international level this time, as the German Chamber of Commerce (GCC) was the partner-country for this event to be held in Hubballi.
To expand IT industry to Tier 2 and 3 cities in the State, IT-BT Department in association with KCCI is conducting this mega event, he added.
Focus on Manufacturing
“INCOMEX-2016” would focus on manufacturing sector in the region, including industries based on agriculture and horticulture.
Out of nearly 450 stalls to be put up, around 50 stalls would be reserved for startups. Vendor development programmes, seminars, lectures, and other programmes would also be held. This event is likely to attract more than three lakh people from cross the State, Patil said.
“The State Government has sanctioned Rs. 30 Lakh for the event. As many as 50 industrialists from Peenya Industrial Area Bengaluru, 100 women entrepreneurs, 100 artisans would participate and electrical, electronics and other stalls would be set up, he informed.
On the occasion, the DC inaugurated the INCOMEX-2016 website (www.incomex2016.com) and asked the participating companies to register their names online besides calling upon the government departments concerned to cooperate in this regard.
