Dharawad: District In-Charge Minister Halappa Achar has hit back at Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy for his remarks that reservation is a childish issue.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said it had been 25 years since the Sadashiva Commission Report was prepared. The report was dusty. Did anyone tell the earlier ones that reservation should not be given? The report was brought and kept as it was. But, our Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has very boldly gone ahead with its implementation, he said.
All those who fought for reservation have happily accepted it. In such a situation, many people are talking in many ways. You didn’t implement the report, which doesn’t mean that others not do it? They have a tendency to pull legs unnecessarily. We have not taken away anyone’s reservation. Constitutionally, no one’s reservation can be taken away. We have not taken away anyone’s right,” he said.
