Dharawad: Angry over the non-availability of drinking water supply to their ward, people in Hebballi Village of the Taluk of the District staged a protest by entering the Gram Panchayat premises with bullocks.

There is no drinking water supply in the seventh ward of Hebballi Village for the last 17 days. When we went to the panchayat to express the grief in this regard, the Project Development Officer Tanvir made an irresponsible statement that he had nothing to do with the issue, they alleged.

The people who were upset over the decision, removed the PDO and locked the panchayat.

They also tied bullocks in the panchayat premises and washed them there on Monday March 20. They also fed them and thereby expressed their anger against the PDO.
