Dharawad: Although Rahul Gandhi was informed about State political events, I don’t know if a team has come from Nagpur to monitor my movements or not. Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar said that if he had come the election itself would have been over before his movements were observed.

Speaking to mediaperskns after meeting former AICC President Rahul Gandhi at the airport here, he questioned why the BJP would have suffered defeat in the recently held Vidhan Sabha election if there were so many expert teams in Nagpur. “There are negative and positive opinions about the election. There are negative comments about me now. I don’t care about this. I have come across many such negative comments, he noted.

As long as the blessings of the people of Central Constituency are upon me, I cannot be defeated. I will not worry about this. Congress party has given all the status. Fifty Lingayat candidates have been fielded in this election. Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Kittur Karnataka. He will campaign in Hanagal, he said.

He added that he is also calling me for promotion.
