Dharwad: The members of Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha and Hasiru Sene held a protest in Dharwad seeking fulfillment of many of their demands including release of crop insurance, loan waiver among others.
Farmers who held protest infront of deputy commissioner’s office raised slogans asking government to respond to their demands.
Their demands include announcement of new support price for crops and opening of purchase centres across the district, waive off loans taken by farmers for farm activities, release crop damage amount, early implementation of Dr. Swaminathan report, to take steps to implement Kalasa Banduri Nala project at the earliest among others.
District President of Sangha Farukh Killedar and others along with hundreds of farmers took part in the protest.
