Dharwad: Four persons including a Mutt Pontiff from Kundgol town in Dharwad district died on the spot after their car rammed to another car on NH 4, near Yerikoppa in Dharwad taluk on Sunday noon.
Four passengers were injured in the accident and they have been rushed to private hospitals.
According to the sources, the deceased pontiff is Shri Basaveshwar seer of Shivananda mutt in Kundagol town.
He was on his way to attend a marriage of one of his devotees after celebrating republic day at his mutt school.
Four passengers travelling with the seer were injured in the accident.
