Dharwad: A house was burgled on Tuesday night, when its inmates had gone to attend a wedding of their relative. The incident took place near Vidyaranya School. The thieves who gained entry into the house by breaking open the locks of the main door made away with valuables worth lakhs of rupees and also a two-wheeler.
According to police, thieves entered the house of one Shakeela Begum after learning that the house was locked as the family members were away. They have made away with 50 grams of gold ornaments, half kg silver and some cash kept in the almira.
Thieves also decamped with a two-wheeler parked in the house premise. This incident came to light after the neighbours saw the house door open with the locks broken.
On getting the information, the local police rushed to the crime spot and collected some details. Finger print experts too were roped in.
A case is registered at the Town Police Station.
