Dharwad: The district units of Socialist Unity Center of India (Communist), Communist Parties – CPI and CPM paid homage to revolutionary socialist Fidel Castro here and remembered his valour and rich contributions in forming a socialist society in Cuba.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI leader BN Pujari said the credit of setting socialist society in Cuba which is just 90 kms from USA goes to the revolutionary leader Fidel Castro. He contributed his might for the welfare of Cuba and became inspiration for other countries in their freedom struggles, he said.
Cuba did not bow before capitalist USA. The country excelled in education and health sectors and achieved record production of sugarcane. Castro led Cuba for more than 50 years and was an inspiration to socialist activists across the globe, he added.
SUCI district secretary Ramanjanappa Aldalli called people to get inspired by the heroic deeds of Castro in forming the society based on social values.
CPI leader GH Kariyannavar, CPI district secretary BS Soppin, SUCI leader HG Desai and others were present.
