Dharwad: “Tulu language which is striving hard to safeguard its existence is successful in its efforts so far and it was treading equally with Kannada language”, said noted critic Dr. Giraddi Govindraj.
Speaking after releasing a book ‘Pretambhattar Nintillaru’ here at Kannada Sahithya Parishat on Sunday, Giraddi said, “While Tulu is the language of Dakshina Kannada people, Kannada was their second language, but now both the languages are equally growing.”
Belagodu Ramesh Bhat from Manipal reviewed the book. Dr. Raghavendra Patil, a literature expert opined that the book explains the importance of protecting culture besides ensuring safety of script and the language.
Former MLA Chandrakant Bellad, Sahitya Parishat district president Dr. Lingaraj Angadi and writer Prof. K E Radhakrishna were present. Former MP I G Sanadi presided over the event.
