Gadag: The Taluk Veerashaiva Lingayat Panchamasali Sangha will be organising a massive District-level Janajagruti Sammelan on Sunday December 4 at 10.30 am in the premises of Sri Someshwara Theri’s House in the town demanding 2A reservation for Panchamasali Samaja, OBC reservation at the Centre, 199th Vijayotsava of Veerarani Kittur Channamma and 244th Birth Anniversary celebrations, said Taluk President Manjunath Magadi.
Addressing a press conference here, he said Jagadguru Sri Vachanananda Mahaswamiji of Harihara Panchamasali Peetham will preside over the function. At 8.00 am, a procession with the portrait of Kittur Rani Channammaji will be flagged off along with offering puja to the idol of Channamma near the old bus stand in the town.
“In all, 10 folk art troupes, along with the poorna kumbha of women, will take out a procession on the main routes of the town,” he said.
