Gadag: With an aim to provide health care to the urban poor and vulnerable sections of the State, the BJP Government launched Namma Clinic on Wednesday December 14. Now appointment of permanent doctors is needed.
Namma clinics have started functioning at Javalgalli in Gadag City, Dosagere Lane in Mundargi, Jamalapura Lane in Nargund, Cottonkeri in Rona and Ambedkar Nagar in Shirahatti Town. Doctors have been appointed only in Rona and elsewhere doctors from the local Primary Health Centre are being used temporarily. In the remaining five Namma Ciinics, nursing staff, lab technicians and D-grade employees have been assigned to work.
Medicines are being properly distributed for communicable and non-communicable diseases, hypertension, diabetes and other diseases. Some of the medicines are being used by local Primary Health Centres. In Namma clinic, a receptionist and waiting room, a medicine delivery room, a laboratory, a separate room for treatment have been opened. However, only blood pressure and diabetes tests are available in the laboratory. Another 10 types of test kits, including for the liver, are yet to arrive.
