Haveri: A BJP MLA of the ruling party’s has decided to hold a black flag in protest at a programme that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will attend on Sunday August 21 in his home, alleging a breach of protocol in the conduct of a public function.

Neharu Olekar, a BJP MLA from Haveri, said on Saturday that his name was left off of the invitation to the inauguration of the new bar association building. “I fought for funds and made sure that a grant of Rs. 7.5 Crore were released for the advocates’ association building. I feel being neglected. We’ll raise black flags during the programme with my supporters,” he said.

“The protest is directed at the government. The invitation card purposefully left my name off of it. A serious protocol violation has happened here. There are some leaders involved in it. I will move a privilege motion in the Assembly,” he said.
