Haveri: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the State Government plans to provide 80% reservation to Kannadigas in jobs.
Speaking after inaugurating the 86th Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelana presided over by Poet Dr. Doddarange Gowda at Kanaka – Sharifa- Sarvajna stage here on Friday January 6, he said the reservations will be under A, B, C and D category jobs in industries. He said the reservation will come into place only after introducing a bill on the comprehensive development of Kannada.
He also stressed that there is a need for an overall discussion on the bill not only in Vidhana Soudha but outside of it, such as in literary festivals or circles. The State Government will not take a hasty decision in this regard, he noted.
