Speaking to media persons, Minister said, “Participants in the programme will not only attend seminars, workshops and lectures to be held round-the-clock on December 6 but will also have their meals and sleep at the graveyard. The objective of the event is to fight against rising blind beliefs and practices which are hampering the growth of a healthy society,” says Jarkiholi.
“An awareness rally from every district will be taken out starting from November 26 which will culminate at Sadashivanagar graveyard on December 5 night. People from many NGOs and other organisations in all the districts have decided to take part in the anti-superstition rally,” said Jarkiholi.
“A team of progressive writers and thinkers will attempt to give a new direction to society through their lectures against superstition. The attempts being made to perpetrate atrocities on people by way of superstition should have to be stopped by launching effective campaigns on a regular basis.
