Belagavi: Police Department inaugurated an exclusive Montessori school for imparting quality education to the children of the police personnel.
A vacant quarters near Veerabhadreshwar temple has been converted into an English medium school by the department under the leadership of Belagavi Police Commissioner DC Rajappa. The police department and an Aerospace company Aques joined hands to renovate and modernize and convert the old building into a classroom. Aques donated Rs 3 lakh for the cause.
Inaugurating the school, Rajappa said that he received several requests for recommendations from personnel for getting admissions into English medium schools. This motivated him to open an English medium Montessori school for the welfare of his subordinates. “We will start higher classes if we receive a good response,” he added.
For the first batch, 22 children have been enrolled. The school charges a nominal fee of Rs 5,000 to the wards of police personnel.
