Belagavi: In a shocking incident, a woman is alleged to have thrown acid on an youth for questioning the misbehaviour of the Kapileshwar temple priest Rama Poojary.
The victim, Prathamesh has been admitted to the district hospital and is undergoing treatment for the burn injuries resulting from the acid attack.
The woman, Madhavi who happens to be Rama Poojary’s sister was irked because Prathamesh had several times criticised the priest’s misbehaviour towards the temple devotees. So to teach him a lesson, she carried out the acid attack on Prathamesh near the temple premises.
Angered by the incident, the locals assaulted Rama Poojary. They even alleged that the priest’s son was involved in immoral activity.
A case has been registered at Khadebazar Police Station.
