Belagavi: In a controversial remark, Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde said that the “unstable and fearful” coalition government in the state was afraid of the “Tiger” union government led by the BJP. He was speaking at the felicitation of the newly elected MLA Mahantesh Doddgoudar at M K Hubballi village in Kittur taluk on July 13.
“BJP-led central government is like a tiger. The Janata Dal (Secular)-Congress alliance is unstable and fearful of the union government,” Hegde said.
He further accused the state government of not extending the benefits of the schemes of the union government to the people of the state. “The state government fears that the credit will go to the prime minister if the Centre’s schemes are implemented”, he added.
On the subject of farm loans being waived off, he said that the move was unnecessary. He said, farmers desperately need “scientific prices for farm produce” and it would make them happy.
