Vijayapura: Taking a jibe at City MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Former MLA and bete noire, Appu Pattanshetty has said that Yatnal has been surviving in politics today only because of his outspoken nature and baseless statements, and not because of his works.

“ Yatnal has been claiming that he has lost the chance to become Chief Minister because of his outspoken attitude, but in my view, he is still surviving in politics only because of his outspoken nature, else nobody would have cared him”, he said.

Addressing media persons on Wednesday, he said that Yatnal who tried to project himself as a big State leader, but the fact is he does not enjoy the support of even around ten City Corporation members leave alone having support of MLAs of the BJP.

Taking exception to the statement of Yatnal that he will remain as MLA for another two decades and Pattanshetty will remain as only former MLA, Pattanshetty shot back, stating that Yatnal is not Adil Shahi ruler and it is not monarchy that he will continue to be in power for decades.

“ It is the people who decide who should remain MLA, Yatnal cannot decide his future in politics in democracy. As an MLA, he should carry pride of doing something for people and seek votes based on that but one should not carry the vanity which Yatnal is carrying today”, he said.

Expressing anguish over the statements of Yatnal against several seers, Pattanshetty warned him not to talk lightly against any seer as they have great respect in the society.

He said that no seer needs the advice of Yatnal as they are capable of giving statements on any issue at any time based on their choice.

“ Yatnal thinks that he is more intelligent than seers, writers and activists. He thinks that he learned more than anybody on the earth. Everybody knows what kind of man Yatnal is”, Pattanshetty said.

He assured to continue to expose Yatnal in coming days through press conferences.
