Amid Hijab row, girls of Govt High School show religious harmony

Vijayapura: Amid the Hijab controversy that has taken political and religious turn and mudslinging is being witnessed over the matter, heartwarming news is also getting reported from various parts of the nation that showcases religious harmony.

In such an incident that strengthens the belief the the society that not all have fallen prey to religious fanatics, students of Hindu and Muslims communities have shown unity and religious harmony. While the Muslims girls of Vijayapura Government High School are wearing Burqa, their Hindu classmates in uniform showed no opposition to it.

The girls stating that they did not believe in creating controversy over Hijab or saffron shawl, stressed that they have been studying together and even sharing their food.

“We are like children of the same mother. We are classmates and we don’t believe in religious controversy,” the students said.

The students who entered the school premises on Monday February 13, were seen chatting and smiling together. The Muslim students however said that they removes Burqa before entering the classroom.

Their Hindu classmates say that they have no objection to their Muslim classmates coming in Burqa to the school.
