Vijayapura: S. Patil Kuchabal, District BJP President has said that the Party High Command will soon decide on the party’s candidate for the coming byelection in Sindgi Constituency.

Addressing presspersons on Friday October 1, he said that the party will make the name known once there is consensus about the candidature.

“As the dates for the polls are announced, the party will shortly disclose the name,” he said.

He said that many top leaders of the party are expected to campaign for the polls as the party will decide the list of leaders who will visit the constituency for campaigning.

On a query whether Vijayapura City MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal will be part of the campaign, Kuchabal did not give a direct reply and said that the party leaders will decide who should be part of the campaign. The issue has gained significance mainly as Yatnal shares a sour relationship with the party leaders, mainly the Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa as Yatnal has openly criticised the former on many occasions.

Kuchabal informed that the party will be holding State level Backward Classes Morcha’s State working committee meeting in Vijayapura on Tuesday October 5.

He said that BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel will be inaugurating the event, Ministers K. S. Eshwarappa, Kota Srinivas Poojari and other party leaders would be present.

On the same day, leaders of Congress and the JD (S) will be joining the party.

“Former Zilla Panchayat Presidents Umesh Kolkur, Shivayogappa Nedalagi, JD (S) leader of Basavanabagewadi taluk, Appugouda Patil Managuli and others will be joining BJP,” he said.

Further, he criticised the Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in Assembly Siddaramaiah for reportedly comparing RSS with the Taliban.

“It is not acceptable from a veteran leader such as Siddaramaiah to stoop this low and criticise RSS which is the most patriotic organisation of the country and the world,” he said.

At the same time, he also criticised Former Water Resources Minister M. B. Patil for calling the BJP Government an illegitimate Child and Water Resources Minister Govind Karjol as its part.

Kuchabal said that it was the BJP that launched the tank filling project and not Patil in the Vijayapura District.

MLA  Somanagouda Patil Sasnur, MLC Arun Shahapur, Former MLAs Appu Pattanshetty, Ramesh Bhusnur, Party Leaders, Chandrashekhar Kavatagi, Dayasagar Patil, Chairman Lime Development Board, Ashok Allapur and other party functionaries were present.
