Vijayapura: Terming Basavaraj Bommai as a handpicked Chief Minister of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Former Minister and Congress Leader Basavaraj Rayareddy claimed that the former has no power to take independent decisions.

Addressing media persons on Wednesday October 20, he said that Bommai has been acting on the script of the RSS and cannot take any decision on his own. “If he even tries to take any decision without the permission of RSS, then he will lose the position, which is why he is working to appease the RSS,” Rayareddy said.

Accusing Bommai of throwing away the ideologies of Socialism as he has come from Janata Party, he said that Bommai’s mind has become morally corrupt after being influenced by the RSS. “Initially when he took charge as CM, I thought that he would discharge his duties as per the aspirations of the Constitution, but soon he showed his true colours by toeing the lines of RSS,” Rayareddy charged.

He said that by supporting the moral policing of Coastal Karnataka, Bommai has only tried to justify such illegal and undemocratic acts.

With regard to the bypolls being held in Sindagi and Hanagal, he made it clear that though the outcome of the polls will not decide the  future of any political party, he said that the result will decide the future of the people of the State. “The people have to decide whether they should vote for the BJP which has made the lives of people miserable with high rate of inflation,” he said.

Claiming that the people are upset with the BJP Government during its tenure, he said that the prices of fuel, domestic LPG and other essential commodities have gone too high. At the same time, the unemployment rate is also extremely high as over 15 crore people have lost their jobs during the Modi regime, he said.

Claiming that the people are with the Congress in the bypolls, he said that they will express their anguish against the BJP Government by voting against the party in the polls.
