Vijayapura: Accusing BJP MLC Chalavadi Narayanaswamy of acting like a stooge of RSS and BJP, District Congress Committee (DCC) President Raju Algur has said that Narayanaswamy has filed  case against Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah only to appease the RSS and BJP.

Addressing mediapersons on Saturday June 18, he said that Narayanaswamy who gained popularity and enjoyed various prominent posts because of the Congress leaders such as Mallikarjuna Kharge has joined the BJP after he was denied ticket by the Congress.

“After joining BJP and winning election,  Narayanaswamy is now making baseless allegations against Siddaramaiah and stating that Siddaramaiah has hurt the sentiments  of Dalit. Narayanaswamy must realise that Siddaramaiah is the man who has spent all  his life fighting for the rights of Dalits and oppressed classes. Therefore, no BJP leader has the moral right to question his commitment to Dalits,” Algur said.

He accused Narayanaswamy of bringing disgrace to Dalits by carrying the old and dirty knickers on his head in order to dump them at the Congress office. It may be noted that Narayanaswamy has filed complaint with High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru claiming that Siddaramaiah had insulted him on the basis of caste by referring to him as an “untouchable” and “slave”. He had demanded legal action against Siddaramaiah.

Taking exception to the filing of the case, Algur demanded Narayanaswamy to immediately withdraw the case, else the Congress will launch strong agitation against him.

Stating that Narayanaswamy who was working as office assistant at the office of Mallikarjun Kharge, rose to the position of politician and enjoyed various posts only because of the Congress.
“Today, he has forgotten whatever the Congress has given to him. He has become part of the political party which desires to change the Constitution of India. Such stooges have no respect for the Dalits and the Constitution. He has no moral right to question Siddaramaiah’s commitment for the welfare of Dalits and other oppressed classes”, he said.

Congress Leaders Suresh Gonasagi, Chandrashekhar Kodabagi Sahebgouda Biradar and others were present.
