Vijayapura: At the time when the speculations are making rounds of possible change in Chief Minister of the State, Former Union Minister and veteran BJP MP Ramesh Jigajinagi has cautioned the party leaders of sending a wrong signal to the party workers if Basavaraj Bommai is replaced from the post of Chief Minister at this stage.
In a release, he said that as he has been hearing some reports of possible change of guard, any decision to change the CM will adversely affect the morale of the party workers, he added.
Claiming that Bommai has been giving good administration, he said that Bommai has just completed around 100 days in power. It is disappointing to hear some news of his removal as CM. “Such reports will create confusion among the party workers. I appeal to the party leaders to find out who is spreading such false news among the people through the media and warn them,” he said.
Stating that during every BJP rule in the State, the matter of change of CM often crops up. In the last BJP rule also, there were three CMs. In the present rule, Bommai is the second CM. “If he is also replaced, then it will affect the credibility of the party. The leaders should take this matter seriously. It will send a signal that BJP is weak when it comes to administration, and therefore it changes the CMs frequently,” Jigajinagi states.
Asserting that some people are calling Bommai as ‘migrant’ which he said is wrong. He joined the BJP along with the other leaders some 17 years ago. “I also joined BJP after quitting Janata Parivar by accepting the ideologies of the BJP. The matter is clearly known to the party high command. Considering this, no efforts should be made to replace Bommai,” he asserted.
