Vijayapura: The hijab-saffron shawl controversy that has grabbed headlines in the coastal districts has now spread to the Vijayapura District.
Saffron shawls were worn by a group of students from two colleges in the Indi town in the district.
On the morning of Monday February 7, a group of students from Shateshwar PU College, as well as from GR Gandhi Arts, YA Patil Commerce, and MU Doshi Science Graduate College, arrived at the college wearing saffron shawls.
According to sources, students went into classes wearing these shawls.
