Vijayapura: Asking Congress and the JD(S) not to drag RSS in the ongoing by-elections, Water Resources Minister, Govind Karjol has said that both parties should desist from unnecessarily dragging RSS in the election.

Addressing presspersons in Sindgi town after accompanying BJP candidate Ramesh Bhusnur in filing of nomination papers for bypolls on Friday, he however said that both parties are raising RSS issues out of their frustration and maybe to gain some political mileage.

Replying to the allegation of Former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy who has claimed that many IAS officers come from RSS background, he asked whether the aspirants of Bijapur and Bagalkot who recently cleared UPSC also have RSS background.

“ Those few people of both districts who have cleared the UPSC exam, come from humble families and they have cracked the tough exam based on their caliber. Do you (Kumaraswamy) treat them too as RSS persons”, he asked.

In his address, RDPR Minister, K. S. Eshwarappa claimed that the Congress has become a divided house with two leaders, KPCC President, D. K. Shivakumar and Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah going their own ways in the State unit of the party.

He predicted that the party will get vertically divided before the next assembly polls.

He said that because of internal bickering, the people are going away from the party.

Claiming that the people have lost faith in the Congress, he exuded confidence in the party’s candidates winning in both Constituency,  Hanagal and Sindgi with a thumping margin of over 25,000 votes.

MLC, Lakshman Savadi, Ministers Shashikala Jolle, C. C. Patil Baburao Chinchansur, M. P. Ramesh Jigajinagi and others were present.

Later addressing the presspersons, Former Chief Minister Siddaramaih lashed out at the BJP government for increasing prices of essential commodities.

Siddaramaiah who accompanied party candidate Ashok Managuli in filing of nomination papers, said that the people will give the BJP a fitting reply in the election by defeating the BJP candidate.

On the JD(S) fielding Muslim candidate from Hanagal and Sindgi, Siddaramaiah said that the since the people have realized that JD(S) has fielded Muslim candidate only to divide the Muslim votes, thus, it will not make any impact on the prospects of the Congress candidate.

Siddaramaiah claimed that before the death of M. C. Managuli, the late MLA of the JD(S), had requested him to induct Ashok Managuli, his son in the Congress.

He too hoped that the Congress candidate would win by a huge margin.

KPCC President, D. K. Shivakumar, MLA, M. B. Patil, Shivanand Patil, Yeshwantraigouda Patil, Congress Youth President, Mohammed Nalapad and other leaders were present.
