Vijayapura: At the time when the medical students of Vijayapura who have returned to India after the war broke out in Ukraine, are worried about their continuation of education, BLDE University has come forward to help secure their future.
M. B. Patil, the President of the BLDE Association under which the University comes, has said that his medical college will offer free education to all 17 medical students of Vijayapura till the further order of the government on the continuation of their education officially.
He gave this assurance to the students and their parents who met Patil at his residence here where they expressed fear about their future.
Admitting that neither the State nor the Central Government has come up with a policy on the continuation of the education of these students in India, therefore, his college cannot take admission officially without having any government guidelines.
“However, in the interest of the student, we have decided to at least allow them to attend the classes so they can continue their education at least unofficially before the government comes up with a final solution. The students at least can spend time learning and their precious will not get wasted”, he said.
He said that the students can attend the classes and also make use of the library for studies. The students can start attending the classes, he said.
He said that he would ask the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the college to arrange for the lecturers to hold special classes for these students.
He informed that the 17 students who returned from Ukraine were in different years of their studies. Based on their stage, the classes will be started immediately for them.
